Dedication ceremony for Corvallis pathways

This month marks the completion of new pedestrian pathways in Corvallis. During the summer and fall approximately 900 feet of path was constructed along both the north and south sides of Willow Creek Road east from the intersection with the Eastside Highway. The south pathway includes a prefabricated pedestrian bridge across the Corvallis Canal. On the north pathway, pedestrians will cross the canal on a pedestrian walkway that is part of a new vehicle bridge installed in October by the Ravalli County Road Department. In addition, 400 feet of path was added to the existing pedestrian/bike path along the Woodside Cutoff Road, extending that path all the way to the Eastside Highway. More...

Fowler pleads not guilty

Former Ravalli County Sheriff’s Sergeant Jeff Fowler entered a plea of not guilty to felony theft charges in Ravalli County District Court last Thursday. Fowler has been charged with stealing 40,700 rounds of ammunition from the Sheriff’s Office between October 2008 and June 2009. The ammunition was being stored at a padlocked shed at the Whittecar Rifle Range, where officers often engage in shooting practice. Assistant Attorney General Daniel Guzynski is prosecuting for the state. Fowler is being represented by Missoula attorney Milton Datsapoulos. More...
